God is always doing more than we know. In every event in our life and in the life of this church and this city and this state and this country and this world God is always doing 10,000 things that we do not know. The designs and the effects of every event from the fall of a bird, or the birth of a baby, or the death of a sportsman, or the capturing of a suspected murderer – the designs and effects of every event are 10,000 times more than we know. 99.9% of God’s specific purposes are hidden from our eyes. Nowhere is this more profoundly true than in the crucible of persecution. More Christians have been persecuted and martyred for their faith in the past 100 years than all the previous centuries combined. Nearly two-thirds of all Christians alive in the world today suffer persecution in varying degrees, including loss of freedom, discrimination, imprisonment, slavery, torture, and even death. It’s time for those of us who are ‘free’ from persecution to prayerfully ignite our hearts with a passion for those who are suffering. Join us Sunday, 4 November.
